The connective tissue of the body that attaches muscle to bone including tendons and ligaments in it's ideal condition is loose, moist tissue, but under continual stress, repetitive motion and lack of movement becomes rigid causing knots and pain. Massage can release the stiffness and improve flexibility.

Deep tissue is a generic term used to describe bodywork which goes below the superficial connective tissue with the intent of breaking up old structural patterns releasing restrictions of tissue and knots allowing the free flow nutrients and oxygen in the blood. These restrictions are often the cause of chronic back/neck pain, headaches and limited motion. Temporary soreness following the treatment may occur.

Medium to firm pressure.

A recent study conducted at the Weaver's Tale Retreat Center in Oregon looked at the effects of massage for elderly clients. The results of the two-year study showed that participants experienced a decrease in breathing rate of 50 percent and an improvement in range of motion, posture, body awareness, skin color, and muscle tone. Furthermore, it is well documented that caring touch benefits emotional well-being in seniors -- a population at greater risk of suffering from depression.
Massage can add to the quality of a senior's life, both physically and emotionally.

Exposure to stress causes muscle tension, elevated blood pressure and heart rates; also inhibits the functioning of our digestive, immunity, and circulation systems. Over a period of time, this has a wearing effect on the body and lowers our resistance to disease. Using mild to medium pressure, relaxation massage releases tension and stress; brings our body back into a state of calm and relaxation.

Mild to medium pressure, customized to your needs.
